DIY Toddler Valentines

Wow, I haven’t written in a long time! I wish I could say it’s because I’ve been busy, but I don’t even think I can use that as an excuse. Apparently I’ve just been lazy.

We have been getting ready for Baby #2 though, so that’s probably part of it. We’ve also been getting the house ready to sell because we’re moving to North Texas this Summer.

Ok, maybe I have been busy actually.

This craft is a bit of a collab between me, our amazing nanny Sam, and my daughter Mary, so I can’t even claim full credit for it.

Materials

  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter (or other heart-shaped object to use for tracing)

  • Cardstock

  • Scissors

  • Paint, crayons, stickers, glitter, etc - anything to decorate the hearts

  • Small envelopes for sending/delivering - I made mine with my Cricut, but that’s definitely not a requirement

Method

  • Using the heart-shaped cookie cutter, trace hearts on paper and then cut them out. Sam and Mary made me 20 hearts.

  • With the paint, crayons, stickers, etc, decorate the hearts

    • Can also decorate a full piece of paper and then cut heart shapes out of it. They did a few of these as well, looked cool.

  • Write on the back - Sam wrote “To <friend’s name>: Happy Valentines Day! From Mary” on the back of all of the hearts

  • Boom. Valentines.

  • Since Mary has friends all over the place, I made small envelopes for mine with my Cricut using cardstock and put the valentines in the mail.
